Sitting In Judgment

It’s Holy week, and as I think on the crucifixion, on the sacrifice of Jesus, I am reminded through stories like this one that I share today, of just who I am, and who Jesus really is. Humbling–that’s the only word for it. His love levels me.

.  Sitting there, in the comfort of my private family room, watching Lance Armstrong confess his sins on public television, the edges of my mouth tightened in disgust.

God help me, that was my first reaction–not pity, not sorrow for him, but disgust at the size of his sin, (as if there is such a thing as a lesser sin).

That was the first stone I threw. … I’m sharing a bit of ugly-truth over at BibleDude’s Living The Story column today, Read the rest over there.

Weekend Wanderings

Messianic Meal

I head into this weekend starving–so hungry for the grace and truth of Christ to fill me. Praying for you, that you’d clamor up to the table with me. Let’s delight in Him who is the very Bread of Life. There’s no need to hold back when you feast at the Kings table. As my Grandfather used to say, “if anyone leaves hungry, it’s their own fault”.

Feast friends.

Let Him fill you.

Not many words this weekend. Just this small prayer~

May it be more revealed to me in all its influences
that my love to Him may be more fervent and glowing;
let the mighty tide of His everlasting love cover the rocks of my sin and care;
then let my spirit float above those things
which had else wrecked my life.

The weight of the world presses us lower, and it’s there, in the spaces where we can scarcely breathe, that we find He is closest, holding our hands, lifting our spirits, filling up the holes in our cracked-up hearts ~

Some reading for you this weekend:

“Katie says that Jesus wrecked her life,” Lydia tells me. “God turned everything upside-down, and later she realized He actually turned it right-side up.” ~ From my friend, Jennifer. Read the rest HERE

“This book she has written has come with a price. You see, salvation in Christ is free, but obedience to Him may cost you your life. In actuality, becoming a believer of Christ is the easy part — anyone who believes will be saved. It’s becoming a follower that will cost you everything.” ~ From my friend, Michele-Lyn. Read the rest HERE
